Founded by three brothers with Amish roots
State Line Construction was founded in 2022 by three brothers with Amish roots and builds from a shop on Railroad Highway in Council Bluffs. The mission has not changed: build high-quality structures and keep lasting relationships built on trust, craftsmanship and personal service.

How much does a post frame building or barndominium cost per square foot?
We do not quote a flat price per square foot, because two buildings the same size can differ by tens of thousands of dollars. Finishes, foundation, roof design, ceiling height, doors and windows, insulation, site prep and utility hookups all move the number.
A free quote starts with a conversation about your goals, your budget, how you will use the building and the features that matter most. From there we build an estimate for your project, not an average found online.
What is the difference between post frame, steel frame and EPS buildings?
Post frame uses large wood posts to carry the roof and walls, and is usually the most budget-friendly and fastest to build. Steel frame uses rigid steel beams for long clear spans and heavy use. EPS combines insulated panels with post or steel framing for the best energy efficiency.
Many projects mix systems. We will walk you through the pros and cons of each before you commit.

Yes. We build barndominiums and post-frame homes, from the shell to finished living space with a shop or garage attached.
